STRONGSVILLE, OH (April 27, 2017) – Former Rep. Betty Sutton (D. OH) today announced the endorsement of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 6 (IUPAT DC6) for the Betty Sutton for Ohio ticket in the 2018 Ohio governor’s race.
“Throughout my career, I’ve led fights against unfair trade deals that hurt Ohio workers.” Former Rep. Sutton said. “Too many Ohioans are feeling the pain of policies that help only the most privileged and powerful while leaving far too many behind.”
IUPAT DC6 is an affiliation of IUPAT local unions throughout all of Ohio and Central Kentucky. IUPAT DC6 represents 4,000 men and women who work in the Finishing Trades – commercial and industrial painters, glaziers, glass workers, drywall finishers, and sign and display workers among other crafts.
IUPAT DC6 Business Manager Jim Sherwood said IUPAT is proud to endorse Betty Sutton as the next governor of Ohio.
“Betty is not only a friend of Labor but in fact a champion for Labor,” said Sherwood. “We have a longtime relationship with Betty and have seen her work at local, state, and federal levels. She has met every challenge with equal success. Her vision to move Ohio forward is one we believe in, and we stand ready to work every day for her victory in the election.”
