Big thank you to Continental Building Products for taking the time to meet with our District Council 6 Training Department to talk about the products they offer. This company is joining a fast-growing list of manufacturers whom donates materials to our training program. They are committed to working with us to advance the drywall industry as a whole. With their donation of sheets of drywall and joint compound, we can give apprentices a greater opportunity to use these products along with other materials donated from other manufacturers- to help us guide our apprentices into well-rounded journeypersons desirable to our contractors. With donations from, Continental Building products, National Gypsum, Trim-Tex, and Ames Taping Tools- we can spend budgeted training fund money on other things like new equipment and lumber to build better, more efficient mock ups. National Gypsum donates buckets and bags of mud every year. Trim-Tex donates sanding pads, sanding sponges, and a variety of their beads and trims. Ames Taping Tools generously donates three full sets of their automatic taping tools for the Strongsville, Columbus, and Cincinnati training centers. In addition, they give each graduate of our drywall finishing apprenticeship program a bucket and a full set of hand tools.
