Advocating for issues that affect our members and their families.
District Council 6 believes it is important to engage with elected officials and educate them on the issues important to the union construction industry, our District Council and organized labor.Â
The majority of DC members support issues such as the right to organize and collectively bargain, support Prevailing Wage and Project Labor Agreements and oppose So-Called “Right to Work” legislation.
We believe it is our duty to educate our members on “breadbox” issues and to advocate for the items that affect our members’ paychecks and their ablity to take care of themselves and their families.Â
Furthermore, issues such as Responsible Contracting, Quality Training, Quality Construction, Drug-Free Workforce and Safety impact everyone of our members.
We also on the lookout for members who want to help out with political campaigns.
