An application process is now open for a scholarship opportunity of $1,000 to 200 eligible construction and manufacturing registered apprentices enrolled in Ohio community colleges. The application process will close on Friday, April 30th, 2017.
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services through a partnership with Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corporation & Ohio Association of Community Colleges, are offering the scholarship opportunities to cover equipment, tools, and work clothes for qualified apprentices.
The process consists of an application, recommendation form, and W-2 documents submitted by the apprentice. The funding is to be used by the apprentice to offset individual costs for items such as books, tools, work clothes, etc. Eligible applicants will be selected on a “first-come-first-served” basis.
